Lead Developer, Board of Directors, Founder
Victor has been active as a software developer in the infosec community for many years. He is the creator of the Vuurmuur Firewall project, has been one of the developers at the Snort_inline IPS project. Victor has spent the last years doing contract development on Open Source security software including significant additions to Snort. At the end of 2007, he started development on the OISF codebase on which he now leads the development effort. Victor resides in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Kelley Misata, PhD
Kelley is a strategic leader, speaker, and innovator who combines over 15 years in business leadership roles with a passion for facilitating critical conversations around responsible digital citizenship, digital safety, and privacy. Her work with The Open Information Security Foundation and past work at The Tor Project spans across fundraising, advocacy, policy discussions, marketing, and outreach activities with an array of stakeholders. She is also expanding her groundbreaking dissertation research in the information security of non-profits workings with victims of violence. Kelley combines professional and research endeavors with a unique perspective as a survivor of cyberstalking. She continually draws on current trends and conversations in information security and privacy to create strategies that focus on intersect people, process, and technology. Bringing to the table a fearless and unique perspective on privacy and security drives Kelley’s successes in her professional and academic endeavors. Kelley holds a PhD in Information Security from Purdue University specializing in the information security of organizations working with victims of violence, a MA in Business Administration, and BS in Marketing.
Lead QA/Trainer for Suricata
Peter is a co-founder of Stamus Networks, where he acts as CSO. He has been an active OISF member for a decade and has a 15 years-long record of activity in the field of IT security. An adamant admirer and explorer of innovative open source security software, Peter is also the lead developer of SELKS.
Jason is a professional software developer with over a decade of experience developing and integrating open source solutions in the security and networking fields. Jason’s experience covers device drivers right up to user interfaces, including co-founding and acting as a CTO of an IDS integrator which was later acquired. Jason currently resides in Saskatoon, Canada.
Philippe is the CEO and founder of Catena cyber. He aims to improve the cyberdefense level by freely developing tools for cybersecurity experts. He got his experience in cybersecurity and software development in ANSSI, the French national agency for cybersecurity, and LORIA, a research lab tackling malware, but also abroad: at MIT about bioinformatics and at Infineon in Munich, Germany, debugging VoIP drivers on embedded systems. He graduated from both Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom Paristech.
Shivani graduated in 2016 and started her career with Python development. She was an intern with the Netfilter project and also a recipient of a scholarship from The Linux Foundation. She has been associated with several open-source communities ever since and promotes women in STEM. Shivani does not have a particular place of stay but she’s found somewhere in India for most of the year.
Juliana graduated in 2014 in Information Systems and has a diverse background in technology and entrepreneurship. Her experience includes working with Robot Soccer in Mixed Reality environments, Customer Development, mentoring young women in tech, and technical support. She started working with OISF through an internship with Outreachy. She strongly believes in the power of diversity and inclusion, communities, knowledge sharing, and giving back. Juliana currently lives in Portugal.
Developer for Suricata
Andreas is a software developer with a focus on open source and security-related projects. He has been working in the open-source community for over fifteen years and specialized in Networking, Infrastructure, Operations, and Linux with a focus on High-Performance and Stability. Andreas resides in Germany.
Jeff is a software developer with a strong interest in system level programming and network security. He’s new to the open source community and looks forward to applying his experience with high performance computing, multiprocessing, and systems programming to Suricata. Jeff resides in North Carolina, US.
Corey is an IT professional who has acquired various skills over many years of diverse experience. He has automated building machines en masse, down to tweaking kernel improvements for performance applications within open source communities and global businesses. Corey’s focus is on efficiency and curiosity.
Phil is a Linux system administrator and master troubleshooter, and has been working in that space for roughly 20 years. He has been with Emerging Threats (now Proofpoint) since 2011, and has been working with OISF in some format since then as well. Phil resides in Indiana, in the USA.

Matt brings over 15 years of security and entrepreneurial experience to the foundation. Matt is the founder of Emerging Threats, an open source IDS Ruleset, and Emerging Threats Pro which is a commercial version of the Emerging Threats ruleset. This makes Matt a consumer of the OISF Engine and an ideal person to lead the foundation. Matt resides in Lafayette, Indiana.

Brian Casserly, JD, MBA
Brian’s legal practice representing technology companies in all stages of the business cycle keeps him at the forefront of legal issues confronting companies in today’s rapidly changing environments. His work routinely includes company formation, raising capital through private securities, contract and joint venture negotiations, equity compensation, and mergers & acquisitions. Brian also represents venture capital and privacy equity funds, as well as angel investors, in structuring investment vehicles and negotiating terms. Prior to practicing law, he spent several years in the finance industry.

Eric is an active member of the security and open source communities. He is a Netfilter Core Team member working mainly on communications between kernel and userland. He works on the development of Suricata, the open source IDS/IPS since 2009 and he is currently one of the Suricata core developers. He is also one of the founders of Stamus Networks, a company providing security solutions based on Suricata.

Charles-H. is a French technologist and a Free Software and Open Standards advocate. He is a long-time contributor to free and open source projects such as Document Foundation and the LibreOffice. He is considered a renowned expert promoting the adoption of the OpenDocument Format standard through the company he co-founded, Ars Aperta. A former director of the OASIS Consortium, he has engaged in various digital public policy debates at the European level. He is a founding member and one of the former directors of the Document Foundation, home of the LibreOffice project. Charles-H. is now a member of the French national cyber security agency, ANSSI.

Gene is a co-founder and the CTO at ProtectWise, where he drives its technology vision and architecture. He has more than 20 years experience in software development, cloud computing, security-as-a-service, and distributed systems. Prior to founding ProtectWise, Gene was the Founder and CTO at TagLabs, a mobile tagging company. He was a Principal Software Engineer at McAfee, Cloud & Content Security and has also held engineering roles at MX Logic and GDX. Early in his career, Gene developed financial forecasting, market analysis and service capacity planning software for Hewitt Associates (Aon).
